  • Started formal training in 1979. Trained consistently in many styles of Traditional Martial Arts.
  • Started training in Kenpo and Kickboxing in the mid 1980's, earning black belt in 1993.
  • Over 20 years of Thai Boxing/Kickboxing experience.
  • Starting training at the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy in 1999. Studied Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Combat Submission Wrestling.

Royce Gracie-Guest Instructor.


History:
  • Started training in Jiu-Jitsu at a very young age with his father Helio Gracie. Helio Gracie and his brother Carlos Gracie are the founders of what is known today as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
  • Received his black belt at age 18.
  • Rorion and Royce Gracie founded the Gracie Academy in Torrance, California.
  • Was the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) first champion. Easily defeated his opponents who consistently outweighed him by more than 50 pounds.
  • Went on to win 3 UFC titles.
  • Still holds the record as being the only man to defeat 4 opponents in one night.
  • After his victories, the world couldn't get enough of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and that fire has yet to be quenched.
  • In November 2003, was the first fighter to be inducted into the UFC's Hall of Fame.



Rodrigo Gracie-Guest Instructor.


History:
  • Started training in Jiu-Jitsu at a very young age with his father Reylson Gracie. His grandfather Carlos Gracie along with his uncle Helio Gracie are the founders of what is known today as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
  • Received his black belt at age 19.
  • Moving to California to teach Jiu-Jitsu, he then found his way to New York City where he trained with his cousin Renzo Gracie. Rodrigo then opened his own academy in NYC.
  • He then moved to L.A. and currently teaches in Torrance. He travels and conducts seminars at all of the Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Networks.
  • He is a multiple Pride Fighting Champion as well as a K-1 Heroes Champion. He is also the winner of many prestigious grappling tournaments.
  • First place winner at Abu Dhabi Combat Club World Wrestling Championships (ADCC).
  • Four time North American Grappling Association Champion.

We wish our guest instructors were here teaching full time, but they come in four times a year to teach awesome seminars.
