Was the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) first champion. Easily defeated his opponents who consistently outweighed him by more than 50 pounds.

Moving to California to teach Jiu-Jitsu, he then found his way to New York City where he trained with his cousin Renzo Gracie. Rodrigo then opened his own academy in NYC.

He then moved to L.A. and currently teaches in Torrance. He travels and conducts seminars at all of the Royce Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Networks.
- He is a multiple Pride Fighting Champion as well as a K-1 Heroes Champion. He is also the winner of many prestigious grappling tournaments.
